Virginia Tech’s Board of Visitors meets today. Thanks to publicly available BoV Open Session Materials, we know that the proposed football practice facility slated for construction in Stadium Woods will be discussed at least twice. Here are the mentions in two different PDFs.

12. The purpose of this project is to build a new field house to increase the availability of indoor training time for the football program and other athletic programs. In addition, Rector Field House may be renovated to increase its functionality for indoor athletic events. Athletics has requested to move forward with selecting a criteria consultant for this project. Design is on hold pending resolution of a site study due June 2012. [emphasis mine] The annual budget was adjusted in the second quarter to reflect revised expected cash outflows for fiscal year 2012. Additional funding for the project may be considered pending a program plan and financial plan.
