To all Friends of Stadium Woods

Dear Friends of Stadium Woods,

Thank you for your tireless efforts on behalf of the woods. It is time now to call our elected representatives, as advised by two of our legal counsel, to urge them to ensure that the woods are permanently protected from development, and that the woods be protected in a conservation easement. The goal and priorities are listed below.

1. Prevent impending development in its entirety of the 11 acre rare old growth white oak urban forest on Virginia Tech’s campus know as Stadium Woods.

2. Permanently protect Stadium Woods with a conservation easement or any other vehicle that will save the forest in its entirety forever.

3. Urge whomever you speak with in the Governor’s office, Mark Warner’s office and Jim Webb’s office to see the website www.savestadiumwoods.com and Facebook page so that they understand the importance of the woods and the scope of the support of the woods and the opposition to developing the woods or damaging the woods in any way.

I have called all of the following offices this morning and urge you to do the same TODAY.

Governor Bob McDonnell: 804-786-2211
Sen. Mark Warner: 202-224-2023
Sen. Jim Webb: 202-224-4024
VA Secy of Natural Resources, Doug Domenech: 804-786-0044

Please call them TODAY to express your support for PROTECTING THE
ENTIRETY of Stadium Woods in a permanent conservation easement and
please let us know that you did so.

Thank you very much,
Rebekah
